KEEP SHOOTING (cont'd)

The door of opportunity is open and it is up to you to walk through and embrace all that you need. I’ve been working long hours to launch this website, as well as a few other projects I have in tow because I know timing plays a critical part in growth.

I was reminded of another person who had an opportunity for growth and their response.  The King in reference can be found in 2: Kings 13: 14-19 of the Bible (King James Version). “Elisha had become sick with the illness of which he would die. Then Joash the king of Israel came down to him, and wept over his face, and said, “O my father, my father, the chariots of Israel and their horsemen!”15 And Elisha said to him, “Take a bow and some arrows.” So he took himself a bow and some arrows. 16 Then he said to the king of Israel, “Put your hand on the bow.” So he put his hand on it, and Elisha put his hands on the king’s hands. 17 And he said, “Open the east window”; and he opened it. Then Elisha said, “Shoot”; and he shot. And he said, “The arrow of the Lord’s deliverance and the arrow of deliverance from Syria; for you must strike the Syrians at Aphek till you have destroyed them.” 18 Then he said, “Take the arrows”; so he took them. And he said to the king of Israel, “Strike the ground”; so he struck three times, and stopped. 19 And the man of God was angry with him, and said, “You should have struck five or six times; then you would have struck Syria till you had destroyed it! But now you will strike Syria only three times.”

He was given instructions by the Prophet Elisha to solve a problem.  However, we see the king didn’t follow the instructions to the fullest extent. This would ultimately cost him total victory. We are not told why he stopped shooting arrows. I imagine his emotions, logic, or fear could have played a part.  It is not that hard for me to imagine because I’ve been guilty of the same thing.  I start something and stop. I start something else and stop again often missing great opportunities. I found myself with a lot of “unfinished projects” that have great potential to be something unique.

The life changing moment for me was when I lost my very dear friend who was two months shy of her forty-fourth birthday. My mind wondered about all the things she hoped to accomplish but would never have the opportunity to see manifest. I started reflecting on the projects I started and never completed.  This defining moment resulted in me pursuing everything given to me with relentless force. Like the King was instructed, I began to shoot my arrows with precision, with focus, and with intent and I am still shooting. I intend to shoot until no arrows are available to me.

You visited this website for a purpose. Please take advantage of all it has to offer. Your purpose and destiny is tied to your desires and goals. It is not by accident that you want to pursue or are pursuing owning a business. It means you have problems to solve.  Go for it. Keep Shooting!

THE CODE (cont'd)

... an e-copy of my books. This sounds great considering almost everyone owns some type of “smart device”.  There was just one problem…not everyone knows what or how to use a QR Code.

I found myself explaining the advantages of a using such a code on smart devices. While some understood and was eager to try it, others were very apprehensive.  I must say I left the fair quite puzzled. After all, QR Codes are everywhere.  However, not all was lost. This experience led me to a great idea on how to create awareness about my products.

I created postcards with something of value on the front (instructions on how to use a “QR Code”) and I talked about my products on the other side of the postcard. This allowed me to do two things. The first thing was giving potential clients something of value they can use in their everyday life; saving them time. The second thing was exposure to my products in a way that isn’t perceived as a pushy salesman.

In offering information on how to use a “QR Code”, I cracked another code. One way to keep your brand before the eyes of consumers is to offer something they didn’t know they needed with no strings attached. I choose information. As a result, I created awareness for my brand as well as a relationship with consumers. They know I care about them enough to share something that will enhance their lives.

If you don’t know how use a “QR Code”, it is simple. Follow the instructions below.

“QR” Code is a quick response code that allows you to scan an image to access a webpage instead of typing the website address. You will need to download an app to your smart phone or device to take advantage of this. Google Play has plenty of free QR apps listed.

1. Download the free QR app of your choice.

2. Practice!  Use your QR app to access EXCLUSIVE PARENT MAGAZINE page (above).

3. Sign up for a free subscription to the monthly magazine.

4. Enjoy!
